Influenster

A few weeks ago I received my second VoxBox. The Rose VoxBox. It had some surprisingly awesome stuff in it.

I'm going to rate this in the most awesomest to the least awesomest.

1. belVita crunchy Breakfast Biscuits.
I received the blueberry flavor. I thought they tasted like a blueberry muffin in cookie shape. They kept me full and were quick to eat. Which is important when you are chasing an 1 1/2 year old around. The only downfall I found is that they aren't cost effective. The paper says they were around 3.69 a box. A box has 5 packs of 4 biscuits. I can say I could not find them for 3.69 they were much more. That is a normal problem where I live. Food is way more expensive here!

2. Rimmel London Scandaleyes in Retro Glam Mascara.
Whew! That's a mouthful (that's what she said. I'm sorry that isn't appropriate lol. I'm sorry I'm not sorry). I will say ahead of time it takes a lot to impress me with mascara. For a drugstore mascara... I thought this wasn't bad at all. I still prefer my Clinique mascara. But if I were to run out or didn't have the time to put on primer and then my mascara. I would totally use this. I thought it was great for busy days to make me look apart if the land of the living. If you know what I mean. So color me impressed.

Please pay no attention to my goofy face

3. Kiss Gradation Polishes
This is pretty much ombré nails. I like the concept. The colors were pretty. This would look better on someone with long nails. I have man hands with short nails. So there's that problem. My other problem was it took for-EV-er (1500 Brittany Bucks if you know what movie that's from) I did it. Let it dry and it still smudged. I mean you are putting like a kagillion layers of paint on your nail. So I thought it looked a little thick. I wore one color by itself and it looked awesome. So 6.99 for three colors not too bad.

4. Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffle
Yeah, it's expensive chocolate. No thanks. The chocolate tastes like Klondike chocolate. Which don't get me wrong I love Klondike. I'm just saying if I want chocolate I would buy a thousand other things before I would buy these. An actual Klondike would be on that list.

5. Dr. Scholl's For Her Cozy Cushions
I don't have a real problem with these per se. It is just something I would never ever buy or use.  I live in the south. I mean it was in the mid 80's this week. I wear flip flops year round no matter where I live. My feet just like to be free. Although if you lived in a colder area and were I don't know going to play in the snow. Then you'll probably love them.

So, that is what I got in my Rose VoxBox! I love getting an Influenster package. Trying new products and telling them how I feel. If I could only get paid for this. Ya know what I mean. I've got some invites left, if ya want one let me know!!

"I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes."

details

I try to think of clever or cute titles (for some reason I accidentally typed titties and I'll be honest I giggled...a lot) So.... I tried to think of a title for this but I got nothing. My instinct is to do it like school paper style. What I did on my Summer Vacation. All underlined and such. but alas I am no longer in 6th grade English. so I will not be doing that. anyways on with the show

Today, was one of those days that I love living in the South. Back home it is yucky outside and here it was sunny and mid to high 70's. With this wonderful weather, I was able to play outside with my monster. I love watching him play and just explore. It is so neat just to see him learn new things and just experience life for the first time.

Sometimes, I think as parents we forget that this is the first time they are doing these things. They are still learning and taking it all in. Back to today, he was just roaming around the back yard. Just exploring like little boys do. Then all the sudden he sat down and looked up. There was a flock of birds flying over. It wasn't geese or anything special just regular ole birds. They didn't even make any noise. He just noticed them. Something I probably would have never noticed or how he looks at grass. He just picks up on things that I pass by. The way he looks at the flowers and how pretty they are. He notices the majesty and awe in God's creation. He is realizing how wonderful all of these things are.

It is something that I never expected to learn being a mom. I knew I needed to take advantage my time with my child because it all goes too quick. I just never realized being a mom would teach me to pay attention to the small stuff. Notice the pretty flowers or the way the leaves turn in the wind. Notice the jets in the sky or the way cotton candy feels. Notice how enticing a Christmas tree really is or how awesome Woody is.

If you are a parent, Have you noticed this as well? Have you wanted to soak every little detail in?

Friday Again!!!

Wow! I can't believe that it is Friday again. That seems so crazy to me.

I hate that it seems like I'm only writing on Friday link up days. I want to do better than that. That'll be my November goal.

Well, this week it doesn't seem like a ton of crazy things happened.

1. We put up our Christmas Tree!!!
You know what really burns my biscuits is when people get their tinsel in a tangle because someone has the tree up early. I just don't get how me or any other person that has the tree up affects them? Ya know? Personally, if you are so worried about me and my family having the tree up in OUR home. Then frankly you have too much time on your hands. Get a hobby.

*oh can we mention that this tree is older than me. So that makes this tree 28 years old.
She looks pretty good for her age, huh?!*

2. I made a giant batch of beef vegetable soup. Probably enough to feed America. At least it seems that way. But it's super yummy and very healthy!!

3. I'm trying to eat healthy and somehow I had a cookie blackout. I made white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies. I really don't even remember starting them. I was talking to Mo... Then I was putting dough on cookie sheets. Have I told you that they are my favorite cookies? Needless to say my healthy low-carb diet hasn't went very well. :/

4. I received my second VoxBox from Influenster! Full of goodies to try out. I'm still making my way through it. Have y'all heard of Influenster? It's completely free and you write reviews on products. Then sometimes companies send you products to test out and you tell them what you think. It's pretty awesome! You can sign up but it goes a ton quicker if you are invited. I actually have some invites left...so if you would like one leave me a comment with your email and I'll send it your way!!

5. I'm attending and helped very marginally with the planning of a baby shower tomorrow. I'm not making the diaper cake this time. It feels weird not to be doing that. I am helping with the games and decorations. I just hope mommy to be enjoys herself!!

I think that's all that has been going on. Hopefully more interesting stuff for next week.

Make it a great week y'all!

October Recap!

Hey Y'all! It's Friday! The first day of November! Yesterday was Halloween.

With all of this I am leading up to say ...

It's ....  CHRISTMAS TIME!!!! oh yeah! I am one of them!!

But, before I hop on to the Turkey Day/ Christmas Train express. I thought instead of doing just a weekly recap I will be doing some highlights of my month!!!

So here are 6 of my most favoritest things that happened last month! (Like my good English skills???)

1. I was able to go down and visit my bestie, Jennifer! We had tons of fun and while there I got to hold an alligator!!!

2. During this visit we made lots of trips to the beach. I got to be on the Gulf for a change.

3. A life changing event occurred while with Jennifer. I saw a real life Manatee family. IN THE WILD!!!! I love manatees! They are my favorite and I can't believe I saw a mommy, daddy and a freaking BABY manatee!!! So precious. It was sad though. You could see all the scars on their backs. :( people need to slow them boats down!!!

4. Mo and I were able to go out for appetizers and dessert date without the little man! Second time ever!! Last time was.... oh....8 months ago!! It was well over due and we had a fantastic time!!

5. We all went to Jacksonville and of course as soon as we get all our stuff to the beach. It starts to POUR! It stopped within 10 minutes but I was able to see double rainbows multiple times. That city sure has my heart. #ilovejax

6. It was so nice to have some "girl" time. This picture is right before our airboat tour. I had so much fun down there. I really wish we were able to spend time together more often! Hopefully one day soon we will live in the same state or even better the same city! A girl can dream, right?

So, that is my October Recap! There are so many more but at this moment in time that is what is sticking out to me!!!

This weekend will be the start of getting the house Holiday ready!! Bring on the Spiced Apple Chai Tea and Christmas Carols!!!

Linking up Darci and Lauren!

Let's Be Corny

So for some reason we had a huge surplus of Hot Dogs in our freezer. So what that mean to most people is lets get the grill out.

Not for us. Clearly we say "hey. wanna fry something?"
Yeah. We are really healthy folks... =/

So, we had fried chicken and corn dogs for dinner one night. Again super healthy. Mo, has his special recipe for Fried Chicken. He was busy tending to the chicken legs (Yeah they were all drumsticks too...)

I made a bee line to pinterest.(hey why don't you follow me. c'mon you know you want to =P)

I found this recipe for Homemade Corn Dogs!

It was easy peezy. I will say I did not have cornmeal. I just used a box of jiffy and regular milk.

Tip: Get your oil screaming hot. My first few corn dogs were pretty ugly because I put them into too soon. so yeah if you want pretty ones don't rush and get your oil HOT!

Finished Product! Yummy! Go make these! You'll thank me! :)

2. We made homemade corn dogs. Yumm-o. I will be posting the recipe up tomorrow! Super easy! They were totally calorie free!!! lol hahah

This corndog was the prettiest one. The first few turned out really ugly. I should've taken a pic of those to show you want not to do. =/

3. Mo, the wonderful husband he is got me a Silhouette Portrait! Woot-Woot! He also got me Pitch Perfect, Jimmy Buffett Lullaby CD LOVE!, and a Delicious Disney Cookbook. Lil' man got me the first movie we ever watched together Bee Movie. We watched it in the hospital together right after he was born. Awww.

I can't wait to get this thing fired up! Everything has been super crazy lately so I have only been able to play with it a little bit. But its awesome!!!

Song Memories

Isn't it funny when you hear a song and it brings you right back to a memory. It brings you right back to that time. You can see it, smell it... everything.

Well, I've had this thought that every once in awhile maybe once a week or twice a month something. I don't know yet. I would tell you a random song that I haven't heard in forever and the memory it evokes. Reasons would be that 1. It would get me to write more and on a more consistent basis. 2. It would get you to be able to know me a little better.

Random Song #1

Sex And Candy - Marcy Playground

Okay, I haven't heard this song in ages. My major memory of this song would be my mom and mamaw taking me to McAlpin's (Department Store) for back to school clothes. We walked in the junior department and this song was blaring. I just remember that I literally wanted to die right there of embarrassment. I could feel my blood dropping to my feet and somehow at the same time making my face bright red. I am sure they didn't even notice the song but as a young teenager and hearing the word sex on the radio with your mom and mamaw. Yikes. I believe I tried to escape and/or maybe hide in the clothes racks. Yes, I was very sheltered as a kid.

That seems so silly now.

For the next song I decided to ask my wonderful husband. Mostly, because I love to know his embarrassing stories. They make me giggle. It took a little work but I got this out of him.

Mo's Embarrassing Song Moment!

AC/DC- You Shook Me All Night Long

Mo: My very first CD was AC/DC Back in Black. So as a kid I would be blaring that CD. In the garage and playing basketball whatever. It was always on. Yeah, when I learned what the lyrics actually meant. I was so embarrassed and never wanted to play it around my mom.

So there you have it folks our embarrassing song memories. What are your embarrassing song memories?!

As for me I will be tending to my polka dotted child...oh I didn't tell you. Yeah, he has hand, foot, mouth disease. =/ yeah... fun times.

Anyways, please enjoy my favorite holiday for me!!!

Being a mom is tough

You know what? I knew being a mom wasn't the easiest job before I became one. With the no sleep, cleaning up puke, no time for yourself thing. I knew that going into it. That's what they tell you.  I'm going to tell you what they don't tell you. It is no reason to change your mind about kids. Kids are great but they change everything.

I was always a generally pretty confident person. Not like I'm hot stuff confident. More of a fake it till you make it kind of confident. If I made a decision I stuck with it. Good or Bad. Confident, determined or stubborn are words I would use to describe myself pre-child. I definitely a 'come hell or high water' kinda girl.

Now, though is different. It all started when I saw these.

See, when I saw those two pink lines my world did not revolve around me anymore. It revolved around that little miracle. It started of small. Am I taking the right vitamins? Should I eat that? You know the normal pregnancy questions. Then my lil' monster was born.  It went to is he eating enough? Was his poop the right color? Is he warm? Is he cold?

Omg. I could go on and on.

I used to think of myself as weak because I didn't trust myself whatsoever. I realize though, that I don't think anyone that comes home with their first child knows exactly what they are doing or that they trusted themselves completely. I believe they would be lying.

So, that brings me to now. My lil' monster is one year old. I still don't trust myself. I am however better at listening to my gut. For example, yesterday. He had a fever. It was his first. I panicked. Nobody likes to see their child hurting. At noon it was 100.9 not super high but enough for my senses were tingling. By 7 it was 102.4. I had been giving him meds as well. Bells and whistles were going off. Everybody had a different opinion of what I should do. Bath or no bath. Keep him covered or sleep in only a diaper. Take him to the ER or not. Seriously it felt like a war zone in my head. Even after I made my decision of what I should do, I could feel other moms judging me for it because it wasn't how they would do it. Let me tell ya. That makes the self doubt so much harder. You know what though. I'm glad I listened to myself. We did not take him to the ER. I'm glad I didn't because you know why? At midnight his temp was back to 98.7.

What I'm trying to tell you. Is that with mommyhood you lose all sense of self assurance. You'll second guess every decision you make. You'll change your mind a half a dozen times. It's okay though. Jut trust your instincts. You are going to be fine and it's all worth it... That I can promise.

Oh MyLanta

Seriously.

I'm an idiot.

I guess I should have thought of this before but I, honest to God, just realized that people may think this blog is about postpartum depression. Not that there is anything wrong or shameful about that. I just meant it like what I'm thinking about. I guess I'm kinda ignorant for just realizing that.

Other news. We will be moving again. Not for awhile. It will easily have to wait till next year. I am excited.

A new town. A new state.

A Whole New World.

Enjoy. ;) ... So sue me that I still love Jessica & Nick. I mean don't get me wrong I'm glad they are both happy and such. I just thought they were adorable.

.:anyways:.

I am excited for new adventures. I do pray that everything does work out in our favor. I will let y'all know where we will be moving when things get a little bit more concrete.

Right now I am planning my Lil' man's birthday party. I can't believe he will be one this month! He is getting so big!! The theme is monster themed. I will be putting up pics from the party after the fact.

I have been doing craft projects like crazy trying to get the house ready for company! So once I have a sec to get caught up on pictures and stuff. You should be seeing quite a few crafty posts coming.

my take on it

This past week we rented two movies from RedBox.

Safe Haven

Warm Bodies

I will go ahead and say that I assumed I would like Safe Haven because it is a Nicholas Sparks book and I am weepy girl that loves that crap. Warm Bodies I wanted to see because it looked the perfect in between movie for boy and girl. KWIM?

I absolutely... LOVED them both!!! I'm not going to give anything away if you haven't seen them but seriously I loved them. I watched them both twice before returning them. I will be buying both of them. Mo enjoyed both of them as well. Also, I should put out there that we are NOT zombie people. We don't have cable or anything. This was the first zombie movie we have seen. It was way better than I expected. Is it just me but does the guy from Warm Bodies look like Tom Cruise to you? I know that is not him but they look similar.

Nicholas Hoult & Tom Cruise.

Were you aware that both of them are books? I knew Safe Haven was but I had no idea about Warm Bodies. I guess I have two new books on my reading list!!!

Have you seen these movies? Did you like them? Have you read the books?

So What?!?

Today I am linking up with Shannon for So What Wednesday's!!!!

So What If...

- I painted my washer and dryer. I do what I want.
- I have a chipped pedicure and chewed up fingernails? (gross, right?)
- I have not got a thing done all day.
- I have a love affair with Crystal Light.
- I have been scratching my butt all day. I seriously have 8 bug bites on my hind quarters. Scouts' honor.
- We just moved into this house and we wont be moving for a couple of years and I am already trying to figure that out.
- I haven't pumped in for like ever.

As you can tell a lot of things that I do need to change and I am aware.  I am just trying to make myself feel better.

So What Wednesday

Saturday, May 11, 2013

woah.

Okay it is May 11. We are already eleven days into May and I have went out and ran once. ONCE. To my defense it has been raining a lot and then I got sick. I didn't want to take the kiddo out in the rain and then I was sick so I didn't leave the couch.
I am not sure if I will be able to get all the miles done but I am going to try.

on a different note...

does anybody else out there have a problem with keeping up with the Jones'? I know I sure as heck do. I will use this little tiny blog as an example. I read all these other blogs and it seems like everybody has their crap together. Do I have my crap together? No sirree bob. I almost always have a running dialogue in my head of what I would write in a blog post about me doing something. Then I start thinking about it. Then I realize everyone and their mom has done that it is totally lame.

I have this horrible habit of wanting to the best and being the best at everything. It is such an struggle for me. So here I am wanting to do something + me trying to be freaking perfect X getting overwhelmed = not doing anything. I hate that freaking equation. I hate writing it down. It is super embarrassing. Plus, i feel like a total phony. Not that I am fake really but I just only letting you see a glimpse of everything. I am not sure how to change the whole problem but I think clearing the air will be a good start. From here on out I am going to be honest with you and with myself.
here we go...
-i breastfeed. I am proud of myself that I have made it almost to a year. Especially with how hard it was in the beginning and people telling me i couldn't do it and that i wouldn't be giving my child enough. Honestly and truthfully the main reason I didn't quit was because people told me i couldn't do it. we didn't have the money for bottles and formula. I hate doing dishes. All of those things combined I had to breastfeed. A bonus was how good it is for lil' man. I hate that I feel like I have to defend why I breastfeed or that I have to make other people feel better about themselves if they formula fed. Ya know what I don't care. As long as you take care of your kid. I don't really care what you do. You do you... I'll do me.
-we cloth diaper.Main reason we are cheap. Lil' man could only use pampers so it was pricey. We switched to cloth and use them part time/majority of the time. Pro it helps the environment.
- i make baby food. again I'm cheap. that is all there is to it.
- with all these things that I do for lil' man. It drives me batty that I feel like I have to defend myself constantly so others don't think I am crazy. or that I am trying to be that mom. KWIM? Believe me majority of the time while I am doing these things I am thinking man I wish Mo could give him a bottle, or it is so much easier to pull some food out of the cupboard and be done with it. but I chose the road less traveled and you know what it is not easy doing everything the hard way and being by yourself. I seriously do not know ONE person in real life that cloth diapers, nursed this long or makes baby food. It is a lonely road.

I feel like so many people think I am Martha Stewart or something. I am not. Yes, I can cook, craft. The only one that I am fairly good at is cooking. Yes, I make stuff from scratch but its because I am very stubborn and I am determined to figure out how to do it. Plus, it is a running theme today... I am cheap. It is cheaper to make a cake with the ingredients instead of buying a couple boxes. Now I have done it so many times it is just as easy for me to whip something up real quick.
Crafting. HA. what a joke I am. Yes I can figure something out but I never get any of it done. seriously the to do list is like a kajillion miles long. Instead I just don't do anything.

What i have figured out in writing this all out is 1. I'm cheap. 2. I have an insane amount of fear stopping me. I am so afraid of not being the best or whatever it is that day that I don't do anything. Epiphany's man. I am so afraid of striking out and not sinking a homer that I'd rather just stay here in my rut. Then I see other people with things that I'd like to do or something. then starts the jealousy and the self hate.

Good Grief I am a mess.

so if you have read this. please I am begging you to pray for me. I clearly need it. Yikes.

gosh i am sorry I just bored you all with all my first world problems but it needed to get out there. I can't promise this will be the last one but I am going to try and make some changes for the better.

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

Right now.

Right now as I type this up on my phone... I am nursing my lil' man. Yes, I'm tired. Yes, I would love to be sleeping. Yes, tomorrow will most likely be rough.

But

I would not trade this for all the world. One day my lil' man won't want me. It's a hard realization to have. I know the goal it seems to be with every mother is to get them to sleep through the night. I say screw it. Who cares what Joe Schmo's kid did. I have a little boy who one day won't want his mama anymore. I'll be embarrassing or a bunch of other things. For right now I'm his world. His everything. I'm going to take it and try to hold on to it for as long as possible.

Mama's kiss your kids, hug them a little longer. They won't always be little.

Loves to y'all!
Sweet Dreams

M.I.A.

I have been missing in action for quite awhile now. I wish i could give you some big story about why I have been missing but all I can really say is that I am lazy. It has been on my mind though if that counts for anything.

One thing that has happened since I last posted was that my step-dad passed. He had a heart attack and was gone. It really made me realize how life can be taken away from you in just a blink of an eye.

With his passing it has made me think about my own health quite a bit. Heart problems and problems of those nature run in my family. I know my step dad wasn't my blood but it runs in both families. Anyways my health has been on my mind a lot lately. I actually have a doctor appointment to get myself all checked out this week. My goal this time isn't to be skinny I just want to be healthy. I want to be able to keep up and tire out lil' man when the time comes. I don't just want to be sitting on the benches all tuckered out. I want to be showing him how its done. He isn't walking yet... emphasis on yet. He will be soon so I need to get my butt in shape. I want to be healthy but if I happen to get a smokin' hot bod along the way... so be it. hahahhahahahha

I have signed up for the Joggermom Marathon. What it is essentially that you have one month to run 26.2 miles. That is less than 6 miles a week. 1 mile a day and you are done! Awesomesauce.
Another thing that really spoke to me is that 10% of the proceeds go to the American Heart Association. I would love to do more with that cause as it is near and dear to my heart.

I am telling y'all and putting it out there that I am doing this. I am going to try to update more and make sure that I do this. I lack in follow through very badly. So if you guys have to hear about my walk/run/jog everyday for like the next month or so I apologize now... :) Since we moved we are no where near a gym so if you have any workouts or anything that can be done at home to go along with the marathon. Let me know!!

Have a great day! I promise I'll be back soon!

H54F!!! 3/22

Wow!!! I can't believe it has been a week already. Man, this growing up stuff makes the days just fly by!

 photo H54Fbutton-triangle_zps678b65ba.jpg

The highlights of my week thus far! Keep in mind my Friday is Sunday night. Our weekend is Monday - Wednesday.

1. The table is finished! Oh yeah! Looks great! Mo wants to add another coat of poly on the top and I want to distress the legs a little. Make it more beach white. If that makes sense. All in due time.

2. Lil' man's room is 97% finished. Just need to hang up one more decoration and everything else that needs to be done will be on my oh so loving husbands shoulders. :) i.e. refinishing the toy box, crates for his dresser, book shelves behind the door.

3. Used my food processor. Made some baby food and made a delicious dip. I'll post that very soon. I think I will try to make my famous carrot cake next. I honestly can't wait to not have to hand shred carrots.

4. I've figured out how I'm going to do the master bedroom curtains. My plan is to use ::drum roll please:: drop cloth. Yeah, the stuff they put on the floor to catch paint. Super cool, right? My idea is to make an ombré curtain in brown. So chocolate to the natural drop cloth color. I will probably have to put some blackout fabric on the back of it. Since Mo is a night dweller. lol. He works nights and sleeps in the daytime. When I make it it I will for sure make a post about that.

5. I have some new goals coming up. I'm going to make a post about those goals I need some accountability in my life. ;)

So how has your week been?!
Leave me a comment and let me know y'all!

brittany bucks

So I hate packing and unpacking. True story.

Who doesn't, right?!

I will pay someone one million Brittany bucks to finish all the unpacking and organizing. I just want it all done. Like .:poof:. All done.

Doesn't work that way. :/

*also... Brittany bucks are redeemable for smiles and pats on the back. :) maybe I could throw in a thumbs up too for good measure.

Yes, I'm using my unfinished wood table. Yes, my dogs are asleep on couch. My new house doesn't feel like home yet. :(.

Oh and yes I am procrastinating!

H54F! 3/15

Hola! So I'm just checking in real quick in between the madness.

1. We've been in the new house a week tomorrow! Wow! Time has flown by. I feel like nothing is done but I know I'm getting somewhere.

2. My wonderful amazing husband bought me KitchenAid 13 cup food processor. I found it for half price because it is "refurbished". Score!

3. Well, this is probably last week but I'm still excited... We went to drop off stuff to donate at a local charity thrift store. We usually don't go in but today I felt the need. On this special wonderful day I found an soft serve ice cream maker. BRAND NEW!!! Just been opened. Okay it was missing a stupid little piece that is nothing but an extra. But you can tell it has never been used. Anyway. I had my eye on it for a while but it is usually 100 buckaroos. Couldn't justify that. This time it was 39.99 plus it all went to an amazing charity. Can't beat that!

4. You'd better redneckanize. Lol. I wish I had a picture but my husband is building us a new table and benches for out kitchen table. As of this morning it is no longer sitting in my kitchen on sawhorses. So many different projects going on at once.

5. We cancelled our cable. I'm excited about this. It is still a little rough right now but we will get used to it. I did download Hulu so hopefully that'll help.

So that is semi what is going on. So much really. Completely overwhelmed and procrastinating.

A lot of awesome things of DIY and recipes will be coming up once we are all unpacked.

GET EXCITED!!!

.: so I can't help myself...here is a picture of Harold:.

Time Out

Oy Vey!

So I won't be able to post for the next week... Hopefully sooner. As I told y'all last time we are moving. It was supposed to be the end of March but now we are doing it this weekend!! Eeeekk?!? Super overwhelmed but crazy amazing excited.

The reason I can't post. Well, I guess I could like I am now but it's on my phone. Nobody got time fo dat. Anyways the cable provider here has made a mistake and cancelled it here even though it was supposed to stay on till April. The new place we can't get someone out there till next week. So bummer.

I have tons of DIY stuff for the new place coming up. So be ready. I can't wait to take a nice bubble bath in my new big tub. I think I'll Pinterest how to make some. Why not?

If y'all have any tips for moving let me know!!!

Have a great week!!!!

Life update

Hey!

I know, I know. I've been pretty non existent lately, huh?!

Well, here is my update!!!

We are moving!!! Less than a month now! Eeeeekkkk so much to do!!!

*she needs a little outside work but she's a beaut on the inside*
Oh, did I mention huge fenced in yard so I don't have to leash my dogs every time they have to potty? SCORE!!!!

Poor, Mo. I have really put a huge to- do list on him. Right now he is working on a table and benches for a kitchen/dining room. I don't know why but I've always loved them. I'm so lucky to have a skilled carpenter as a husband.

Well, Lent has started. I started a little late because I totally spaced about Ash Wednesday. I try to always give something up for lent. Last year I gave up booze...but... I was pregnant so I don't think it counted. Lol.

Lent is how I gave up soft drinks. I gave them up for lent and never looked back best decision ever. This year I'm giving up bread. Yikes!!! It is tough! I'm still eating carbs though well kinda. I had pasta and wraps and sweets. I never really realized how much bread I eat. Seriously!

It is a insignificant sacrifice compared to what the Big Man did for us.

is it just me or does this bread make your mouth water too??

oh its just me.

So, whats going on in your lives?!

I don't have a food post today. Sometime soon. I'm just tooooo tired!!!

Good Night All!!!

The Wounded Sea Cow

Have I told you about the wounded Sea Cow? Nope, I'm not talking about myself. I kid, I kid. Kinda... Sometimes I feel like that though.

Well, I love Manatees. Seriously, I think they are the cutest most wonderful things ever. Have you ever seen a baby one.

Cuteness overload....

Am I right or am I right?

So, one day I was on my daily run (who we kidding it was the only day I did this). So, I'm just running jogging ... Okay I was walking for the moment minding my own business. It also happens to be trash da. So I'm about 1/2 mile away from my casa when I see her. Barbara. She needed me. She needed a home.  But I'm not a trash digger. Not that I'm against it. One mans trash is another's treasure as they say. This was this time. I just didn't want to have to carry this huge piece of wood all the way through the subdivision. I get home and tell my dear wonderful husband about Barbara. Mo, being the peach he is, decides to get Barbara before she goes to the dump.

Come to find out Barbara isn't made of wood. She is pure concrete. Yup, she ain't light. Haha I wish I was there when Mo went to pick up this light piece of wood. Oh well. Barbara is safe now. Although she is wounded one of her fins is broken. :( she apparently was some sort of fountain. So we need to plug up her holes, fix her fin, sand her then repaint her. I'm thinking she needs a pink bow so you can tell she's a girl.

I'm sure you may be wondering why is her name Barbara? Well, this is why.

So have you ever picked stuff out of the trash? If so, what'd you do with it?

He picked YOU!!!!!

Alright, I am completely copying this from my Joyce Meyer's devotional on YouVersion. It really struck a chord with me...maybe just maybe it will do something for you too.

You Can't Impose on God

Today, I want to remind you of something I consider to be important to your well-being: You are no surprise to God. He knew what He was getting when He chose you, just as He knew what He was getting when He chose me.

The Bible says God actually picked us out for Himself as His own! You didn't just randomly show up one day. And God hasn't decided to merely tolerate you.

You can't bother God because He picked you...you can't impose on Him! He's not rolling His eyes when you have a problem. Instead, He'll always remind you how far you have come, how well you are doing, how precious you are in His sight, and how much He loves you.

God already knew your weaknesses, every flaw you would have, every time you would fail, and He still said "I want you." Ephesians 1:5 declares He foreordained you to be adopted as His own. God is your daddy! With Him on your side, things are bound to work out all right in the end.

Prayer Starter: God, Your love amazes me. As my Father, You chose me before the world was ever created. No matter how flawed I may be, I know that You still want me. Thank You for Your goodness!

How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He's the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son. (Ephesians 1:3-6 MSG)

This means so much to me. He knew I would be a handful. He knew I would screw up more times than I'd like to say. He picked me and you. We are special to him.

I am sure there are days that you feel that you don't matter or you useless. Believe me when I say I have been there! Just hold on to this truth that God... the God that made the whole universe and all the living creatures...MADE YOU because you are special to him. You really are the apple of his eyes.

Have a goodin' y'all!!! Remember how special YOU are!
(Okay...I'm aware that goodin' isn't a word. Actually typing out have a good one y'all just seemed like too much work. Even though I just did... :) That is how I would say it anyway.)

Sunday Social 1/27

Sunday Social

 Good Morning!!!!

Today, I am linking up for another Sunday Social graciously hosted by Neely & Ashley!!

Away we go.

What is your ideal way to relax:
 - In my Dream World I would be having a glass glasses of wine, in a hammock at the beach, with no mosquito's, and a nice ocean breeze.
 - Reality. Pedicure and a book. If I'm lucky some wine.

Where is your favorite place to be:
 - My Kitchen (when it is clean) I like being there because I can control everything there. I've got it all taken care of.

Who do you consider your biggest role model:
 - I don't know if I just have one. I pick up lots a little things from lots of different people.

What does your life look like in 3 years?
 - Hopefully, more kiddos running around. I am pro at this blogging thing. Nice house with a NICE backyard. Following my dream of staying at home and selling stuff on Etsy. Completely organized. Healthy too.

If you could go back and change one decision what would it be?
 - Not quiting college.

What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?
 - My husband and son. Also, taking a huge leap of faith and moving 12 hours away from everything we knew and loved to do this all alone.

Hope y'all start your week off great!!!

I got a trifle dish for Christmas and boy do I love it!! I mean it isn't very practical and is something mostly for a party or pot luck but I think they are beautiful.

So I made my first Trifle dish. A strawberry trifle! MMMMmmmmm..... I found the recipe here. I did use vanilla pudding instead of custard.

Honey-Do

Everybody has a Honey-Do List, right? Especially since Pinterest came along.

My wonderful husband does have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest. I always have something for him to do... Always. I am so blessed to be married to not only the best husband ever but also to be married to a genuine certified Journeymen Carpenter. He is/was a gosh darn professional. He no longer does it as his primary profession but now he actually gets to do it for wants and needs. As in my wants and needs. :) Oh  yeah... I'm a lucky girl.

To prove to you how awesome he is take a look at this amazing boat shelf/wine rack. There are plenty of other things but this is my favorite. If you look on the shelves underneath the stain you can see little love notes he left for me... Isn't he sweet?!

*This picture does not do it justice. It seriously is beautiful and amazing.

Honey-Do List

I am asking for a jewelry organizer like this but with a smaller necklace holder and ring holder. I don't need that but I need quite a bit of earring and bracelet holders. Also it will be wall mount. Oh and it will have my magic mirror on the front... I will explain that on a different post. It really is magic.
You can buy this jewelry organizer here.

An Office in a chest. How clever!! Martha shows how you to make an existing chest into an office chest but Mo will be making the chest as well. #winning

A makeup organizer/holder. This is for the both of us. We both hate when all my make up and hair products clutter the counter. So this way it makes it look all neat and tidy and I can easily get to it all.

Hair product holder. Again, so it won't be on the counter. I hate spending money on nice products and then I throw it under the sink to never be found again. I like access to all my stuff. I need to see it all to decide. Check out this bathroom, I love it!!

This is just the beginning of my Honey-Do List. Heaven help us when we actually own a house. Mo will be busy FOR-EV-ER!!!! (sandlot reference, anybody?)

What things are on your Honey-Do List or are you doing it yourself?

Birchbox

Have I told you (lately that I love you) that I love things that are tiny i.e. samples or travel size things? I also love things in bulk. Love me a trip to Sam's.

...anyways...

With my love of samples and beauty products. I was absolutely thrilled when I discovered the Birchbox.

I stumbled upon it at The Small Things Blog. I received my very first Birchbox on Christmas Eve. How fitting, huh? It was awesome. I took no pictures because I tore into it like a crazy kid. If you are unaware of what is a Birchbox. Let me tell you of the pure genius that is the Birchbox. You pay 10 bucks a month with free shipping and they send you higher end beauty samples. I really like it because I live in a small town with no nice makeup places. If I want higher end I have to travel 2 1/2 hours. Lets be real... If I have to drive that long with a baby I don't have time for samples or whatever else. I have to be on a mission.

So with the Birchbox I am able to try it out and then if I like it just order it online through Birchbox and I get points for my purchase. Score!!!

Seriously, why didn't I think of this?!

So here is what is in my January Birchbox!!!

I'll update once I've tried it all!!!

Update: I tried the Nectar Thermique and I am totally impressed. It's a leave in conditioner and it is aaaahhhhhmazing. I washed my hair like normal and used only half of the sample. I air dried my hair and I'm not going to lie to you fine folks. My hair feels like silk. My Lord I could run my fingers through it all the time.

Week 3: Tortellini Turkey Soup

So, the weather is back to being chilly. A high of 59!!! Yikes!!! (I am aware that really isn't cold but now that we live in the deep south and I am a huge pansy... It is cold now.)

Soup... it is this week.

The recipe I was going to make is here. Went to Publix and there was no Gnocchi to be found... So I substituted Tortellini instead. Oh yeah I used Turkey instead of Chicken. I'm going to be honest here... I never use a recipe all the way. I'm one of THOSE. Add a little of this or a little of that. I'm going to use this instead. So yeah. This would be a wonderful soup for leftover Turkey after Thanksgiving!!!

Here is MY made up version of this recipe.

  • 4 stalks of celery; diced
  • 1 Large onion; diced
  • 3 Large Carrots; I tried to do this... but its hard. I need practice
  • 3 clove of Garlic... Next time I'd use 4. I like Garlic; minced
  • 4 T. of Butter
  • 1/4 C. Flour
  • 1 Qt. Half and Half
  • 1-2 Cups shredded turkey or chicken ( I had turkey on hand)
  • 1 Box of Chicken/Vegetable Stock
  • 3 lb bag of Frozen Cheese Tortellini
  • A huge heaping Handful of fresh spinach; slightly chopped
  • S&P...and whatever other seasonings you'd like

Put your veggies in a pot with the butter and saute until they are soft. Add flour and make roux, add half & half. Let heat back up. Add meat and stock. Let heat back up. Then add frozen tortellini. Let Cook. Add spinach at the end. Let cook for maybe 15-20 minutes longer to thicken up...

Ta-Da!! How easy was that? Serve it up with some crunchy bread for dipping and wiping the bowl clean and you got yourself a meal!!

Enjoy!

^ Here is the heart shaped carrots... not great but they did end up kinda cute. Right?

Finished Product!!! Seriously my mouth is watering it is Soooo good!!!
